My name is Ewan Dalton and I spent over 25 years in a variety of technical, sales and management roles at Microsoft. I’ve decided to set up an independent consultancy to help partner companies with their strategic partnership planning, and particularly help get more from their relationship with Microsoft. My experience and contacts are particularly relevant to ISV partners looking to publish and sell their offerings through the marketplace and in collaboration with Microsoft’s own 40,000+ field sales force.
I am a passionate technologist and in 1997 saw myself joining Microsoft as almost my destiny. I’m hugely grateful for all the experiences I had as part of that career, and I’m now looking to take a slightly different direction. In parallel to this venture, I’ll also be writing and will engage more heavily in other, non-“work” related things. More to follow!
Why Mulsarna? One of my passions is motorsport, and I’ve been going to the Le Mans 24 hour race for more than 20 years. Fans of the genre might know the names Mulsanne and Arnage – two of the most iconic corners on the circuit, named after the villages which are nearest to them.
If you’ve ever driven in France, you’ll recognize the signs that mark the entry and exit of a village – the red rectangle with the village name signifies the arrival and the same sign with a diagonal line through it means you’re now leaving.
I chose the name Mulsarna as a blend of these iconic places that mean a lot to me.
